Thank you for visiting Michigan Online and welcome to the University of Michigan (or welcome back if you are a returning student)!

We encourage you to browse online learning experiences created by U-M faculty and experts. Most of these learning experiences are delivered via online learning platforms Coursera, edX, and FutureLearn.

Here’s what you can expect on Michigan Online:

  • Courses: These massive open online courses (MOOCs) allow you to jump into a specific topic or skill. They can be completed at your own pace and are not graded. You do not receive academic credit for completing these courses.

  • Series: A bundle of three or more courses connected by a subject or skillset. These series focus on Python programming, leadership, public health, and more.

  • Teach-Outs: Free monthly online learning events that bring together U-M faculty, community experts, and global learners to learn about and discuss important topics in society. Recent Teach-Outs have addressed feminism, cryptocurrency, misinformation, and police brutality.

  • Collections: Short videos, podcasts, and articles arranged together for you to explore on a variety of topics including career preparation, communicating effectively, and addressing climate change.

  • Online degrees: Fully online graduate degree programs offered by U-M schools and colleges. Keep these in mind after graduation!
