In this segment Carrie Morton speaks with former Republican Senator John Proos about his experiences championing 2012 concussion legislation in the state of Michigan. Building on the previous segment, John talks about what he would have done differently in the concussion legislation and what the future of U.S. concussion-related legislation may look like at both a state and national level.

John Proos is a former Republican Senator who represented the 21st district in the Michigan Senate. He sponsored Senate Bill 1122, signed by Governor Rick Snyder in 2012, which requires the Michigan Department of Community Health to develop educational materials and a concussion awareness program.
