Reflection Questions

One major concern about the overturning of Roe v. Wade is that it may cause a ripple effect. In other words, many Americans are concerned that this decision may encourage the US Supreme Court justices to reverse previous rulings in other areas (e.g., contraceptives [1965 Griswold v. Connecticut] and same-sex marriage [2015 Obergefell v. Hodges]). These worries are not unfounded, as Justice Clarence Thomas has made opinion statements against federal protection for contraceptives. Please take a few minutes to read an interview from the Harvard Gazette with Harvard Law Professor, Mary Ziegler.

Have you thought about the possibility of a ripple effect prior to this Teach-Out? Why or why not?

Take a few moments to consider this question.
