Why Iowa? A Primer on Primaries and Caucuses Teach-Out

Insights Into the Iowa Caucuses / Lesson 1 of 11

Insights into the Iowa Caucuses

7 minutes

In this module, you’ll learn from multiple perspectives about Iowa, the first state to hold caucuses each presidential election year. We hope you gain a better understanding of what it looks like to “go first” from Iowa’s perspective, and how that can influence the rest of the process as more and more states and territories hold their primaries and/or caucuses.

As you reflect on these perspectives, share with your fellow learners what stood out to you about Iowa and other states that hold their primaries and/or caucuses very early in the presidential nominating process.
