Some academics take issue with the kinds of evidence behind UFO reports or express concern that joining a discussion about UFOs would lead to association with conspiracy theory. Chris Impey, Professor of Astronomy at the University of Arizona, defines quality of evidence and recommends that the U.S. government and military convene panels of experts, provide them with full access to information, and allow them to evaluate the evidence directly.
