Thrive in Trying Times Teach-Out

Making Use of Positive Practices / Lesson 1 of 1

Small Efforts are Enough

Small efforts are enough

Before sharing the positive practices you might use in your own life, we want to remind you that you do not have to be an extraordinary case to thrive. When many of us feel challenged enough just getting through the day, thriving simply means finding ways to meet challenges–large or small–with creativity and agility.

In this section of the Teach-Out, we will show you that simple practices, mindset, and new ideas can unlock all sorts of potential. In fact, one of the most effective ways to thrive is to pay attention to small moments and make them matter. Our goal is to give you tools to do just that.

We do not expect that you will do all of these things, try every idea, or that these practices will be immediately put to use. We selected things we hope will be easy to try if and when you’re ready. If you only listen today and take away a new mindset or a new way of thinking, we know that those new ideas will help you down the line. Do what you are able when you are able, and know that just holding an image of thriving and the mindset of resilience (like self-compassion when you’re overloaded) can help.
