The Power of Social Media and Effects on Children Teach-Out

Social media offers unique ways for us to connect with others and express our emotions. It’s important to consider, however, that when discussing the impacts of social media on children and teenagers in particular, the parental perspective is incredibly important. In the following videos, we hear from two experts who discuss research conclusions about the impact of social media on self-control and a parent’s role in their child’s social media use.

First, Ethan Kross, Professor of Psychology and Management/Organizations at the University of Michigan, discusses his lab, which examines how people can control their emotions, the research that’s been done, and some key conclusions so far.
