Shortcomings of Smart Cities: Ben Green

8 minutes

In the next two segments, Benjamin Morse and Ben Green will discuss significant flaws in the smart cities model and why policy makers should pursue “smart enough cities” instead of only focusing on technological improvements. Additionally, the experts will give an overview of the Smart Columbus project and how it can be used as a model for transportation innovation in other cities. Ben will also explain some of the disadvantages that technology can bring when access and equity is disregarded.

Ben Green is an Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral scholar at the Ford School of Public Policy.
