Russia-Ukraine War: One Year Later Teach-Out

Impact of War: Stories from Everyday People / Lesson 1 of 7

Sasha’s Story

5 minutes

In this lesson, we will hear from Ukrainians who have been directly affected by the invasion of Russian forces. Some Ukrainians have been uprooted from their homes and fled Ukraine when the invasion happened one year ago. Other Ukrainian citizens have stayed in their home country, constantly adapting to the dynamic living conditions of the war. We will hear from four Ukrainian citizens about what this past year has looked like and felt like for them during this time of uncertainty.

In the next set of videos you will hear from Oleksandra ""Sasha"" Samborska who was living in Ukraine and attending university when the initial invasion took place. Sasha will talk about what the living conditions have been like for her and her family and some of the tough decisions she’s had to make as a result of the war.
