Russia-Ukraine War: One Year Later Teach-Out

Impact of War: Industry Landscapes in Ukraine / Lesson 1 of 13

Higher Education in Ukraine - Liz Shchepetylnykova

9 minutes

In this lesson, we will hear from several expert contributors who describe how the war has impacted their industry. Economic activity in Ukraine has been severely disrupted. Impacts to supply chain and logistics as a result of blocked ports in the Black Sea and the higher risk to land transportation has made the import and export of goods more difficult. In addition, unplanned blackouts and reduced electricity availability has reduced internet connectivity for commerce, education, and communication.

First, we hear from Liz Shchepetylnykova, a Comparative and International Education Researcher, who discusses impacts to higher education in Ukraine.
