Roe v. Wade Teach-Out

Roe v. Wade, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, and Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization / Lesson 1 of 5

U.S. Supreme Court Decisions - Richard Friedman

2 minutes

There are three Supreme Court cases that speak specifically to the issue of abortion access: Roe v Wade, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, and the recently decided Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The nature of these rulings and the current status of constitutional law is discussed more in the next section of the Teach-Out.

Dr. Richard Friedman will provide a primer on the US Supreme Court, how it makes decisions, and its responsibilities and impacts on law across the United States. Richard is the Alene and Allan F. Smith Professor of Law at the University of Michigan. In 2010, he received the Patriot Award. He specializes in the history of the US Supreme Court and constitutional law.
