Welcome to the Preventing Gun Violence Teach-Out. Welcome to the Preventing Gun Violence in America Teach-Out. In response to the two mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio in early August 2019, we invite you to this interdisciplinary and timely discussion about gun violence and safety in the United States. Gun violence prevention is an urgent, complex, and multifaceted problem. A group of experts from the Firearm-safety Among Children and Teens (FACTS) Consortium in the fields of public health, criminal justice, psychology, and emergency medicine discuss the state of gun violence and injury prevention in the U.S., and how data may inform possible solutions to these issues.
