Preventing Gun Violence in America Teach-Out

In the following segments, Marc Zimmerman will discuss what we know about gun violence in the U.S. and what questions remain. He discusses how the concept of empowerment impacts the conversation about gun violence and how having a sense of control in one's life can have a profound impact on community change. Marc also discusses building resilience in youth and highlights the Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center in Flint, Michigan. He introduces the concept of "busy streets" and community engaged change.

Marc Zimmerman is the Marshall H. Becker Collegiate Professor of Public Health in Health Behavior & Health Education at the School of Public Health.
