In the following segments, Patrick Carter discusses some key findings from his research on firearm violence among urban and minority youth. He talks about developing and implementing innovative emergency department-based interventions that are designed to prevent firearm injuries, as well as decrease substance use and high-risk firearm behaviors among youth and young adults.
Patrick Carter is the Assistant Director of the Injury Prevention Center at University of Michigan and an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School as well as an Assistant Professor of Health Behavior and Health Education in the School of Public Health.
