In the following segments, Cheryl King will discuss the role that gun violence plays in suicide risk among adolescents and young adults. She will talk about how evidence-based screening tools, risk assessment strategies, and psychosocial interventions can help prevent suicides in this population. Cheryl will also discuss the role that guns play in suicide rates within the U.S. population and what intervention strategies we are currently using or considering to prevent these tragedies.

Cheryl King is a Professor within the Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Michigan and runs the Youth and Young Adult Depression and Suicide Prevention Research Program, also at the University of Michigan.
