Behind-the-Scenes of Mapping a the Russell Glacier in 3D
4 minutes
The University of Michigan sent a team of undergraduates and faculty to Greenland in the summer of 2019. The main objective was to have the student team conduct climate science experiments, but their resident videographer had an idea...they would try use a drone to scan and map a glacier in 3D.
Watch filmmaker Sean Curtis Patrick, Media Design and Production Lead at the Center for Academic Innovation, describe the challenges in the experiment.
