Esports: Leveling Up Teach-Out

How Do You Engage with Esports? / Lesson 2 of 3

Watching an esports competition

15 minutes

Unlike traditional sports there are no standardized places (or 8, looking at you ESPN 8: The Ocho) to watch esports on a regular cadence. To catch a professional competition of your favorite game you can either follow a tournament schedule or subscribe to their Twitch account. Many of the largest leagues and competitions, including the Overwatch League (OL), Fortnite Champion Series (FCS), League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), and the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) have schedules publicly available, and some like the Dota 2 International are available to watch in person. Even if you are unable to follow a specific schedule the primary streaming platforms for competitive gaming are currently Twitch.TV, YouTube Gaming, and Facebook Gaming. Most competitions will be streamed on one if not multiple of these platforms.
