Welcome to the Earth Day at 50 Teach-Out

0 minutes

Welcome, we’re excited you’re here!

This Teach-Out focuses on exploring what a sustainable future could look like. Starting in the 1970s, we talk to activists who created the first environmentally-focused Teach-In at the University of Michigan about how they thought about sustainability fifty years ago. With that historical context, we then turn to imagining a sustainable future with over 25 different guests. We opted to go beyond a single expert driving the conversation, and instead gathered a diverse group of activists, designers, artists, computer scientists, and historians to collectively imagine what a sustainable future may entail. In order to create a more sustainable and just future, we need to live a collective imagination that brings in all perspectives – this Teach-Out is the start of that conversation. We hope that you will join the discussion and together we can reflect on and reimagine Earth Day and the preferred future that awaits us.

Thank you for joining this important conversation!
