Looking Towards the Future of Sustainability

0 minutes

Thank you again for joining us as we explore the roots of Earth Day 1970 and dive deeper into what the future of sustainability means across different perspectives. We’ve learned from a range of perspectives about how Earth Day 1970 came about, who played a role in getting things started, and how former and current students are beginning to think about a sustainable and just future. We also shifted our focus from the history of Earth Day to the future of the environmental movement and sustainability. We hope that you’ve begun to notice these connections more frequently in your own life.

April 22, 2020 marks 50 years since an estimated 20 million joined together in protest, solidarity, and celebration during the original Earth Day events you learned about in the previous week. Moving forward, we will shift our focus from the history of Earth Day to how people from different backgrounds and disciplines, and across generations define the future of sustainability.
