In the final video of this lesson, Daniel Thiel discusses his research on the relationship between media and public attitudes towards CRISPR. Media largely portrays a cautious optimism in regards to CRISPR technology; however, there’s also occasional hype and overenthusiasm, which ignores potential risks. Daniel also makes a point about the timing of inclusion of the public in discourse surrounding genetic editing technologies, and emphasizes the importance of including the voices of patients.
