About

As a licensed clinical social worker, Michele Beaulieu, LCSW-C, has spent the majority of her professional career providing direct clinical service in the fields of intimate partner violence and women’s health. In her role as a women’s health social worker, she was an important member of an interprofessional team dedicated to integrated care. After leaving direct service she coordinated a competitive grant received by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, from the Office of Women’s Health, training reproductive health professionals across Maryland, on how to screen and provide brief interventions for intimate partner violence and reproductive coercion to their patients. Since joining the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, she has taught the semester course on Intimate Partner Violence, co-developed and co-taught “Interprofessional Responses to Intimate Partner Violence” for graduate students in social work, law, medicine, nursing, dentistry, and pharmacy, as well as developed and presented seminars for social work students on intimate partner violence. She has also served on the Board of Directors of a local intimate partner/domestic violence agency for eight years.
