Dr. Mendez is a Professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a Principal Investigator for the Center for the Assessment of Tobacco Regulations. His research focuses on modeling the public health impact of potential tobacco and nicotine product regulations, including nicotine reduction in cigarettes and a ban on menthol cigarettes. His research also explores trends and implications of cigarette smoking cessation and switching to e-cigarettes.
