Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Full-time or part-time U-M student on- or off-campus

  • Currently employed by the University of Michigan

    • Students who are not currently employed by the university cannot apply at this time*

  • Maintains a personal presence on one of the following:

    • Instagram/Facebook

    • TikTok

    • LinkedIn

  • Must be active on social media and have a public profile

  • Access to a camera or smartphone that shoots photos and videos

  • Commit to serving a one-semester term, with the option to renew

  • Willingness to perform social media influencer duties for a full semester


Time Commitment

  • Must attend a mandatory social retreat

  • Must post about Michigan Online learning on social media a few times a month

  • The number of posts is dependent on the platform you use

  • Must participate in one student social media takeover through the Michigan Online Instagram

  • Attend monthly mandatory meetings
