Krissy Bhaumik has worked in higher education and student financial aid for over 20 years in the US and England. Krissy is a Certified Financial Aid Administrator with a master’s degree in English Literature from McGill University. She is a nationally recognized leader in state, regional, and national financial aid organizations, and speaks regularly at conferences, workshops, and webinars across the country on various student finance topics, including student borrowing, student financial literacy, professional mentoring, communication and customer service strategies, and leadership development. In 2013, Krissy designed and began teaching The Financially Savvy Student, an undergraduate course at the University of Michigan dedicated to supporting students to enhance their financial literacy and strengthen their financial confidence. In 2016, the National Endowment for Financial Education named Krissy the Financial Educator of the Year for that work.
