When I was asked to Beta test this course, I was a bit apprehensive as to how I will be able to relate with data and material. I feel most non USA MOOC learners will also feel same. Of course I am inspired to look into my country's veteran health care.
I have tried to put all issues, in separate weekly links for convenience of reference.
a. Links : Most links open, add value to learning. In video Links – working and appropriately placed . Easy to navigate thru course material.
b. Video - Audio - most video have issues of opening with non University slide, a few have mismatch with index list titles or placement in wrong Unit . There should be option of going to previous/ next video while playing a video. In video slides : A few needed to be more sharp as accompanying text/ data is blurred . A few audio mismatch with accompanying video .VA alignment alignment is poor in some.
c. Subtitles – mismatch with accompanying video in some .
d. Transcript – Only thing that matched with intended Index item ,Wish : the transcript for video can be viewed without mandatory download, It is visible on screen ( with or without selection ) on other MOOCs and I really appreciate if Coursera can consider it.
e. Practice Quiz : –Title ,to me sounds misnomer, should be renamed self evaluation quiz or something like that . Also it looks same week after week, though it has different questions, I suggest it can be put as one quiz at the end of the course or as post course survey.
f. Quiz : Appreciate that in few, links are provided for both correct and wrong response to Quiz questions.
g. As I completed equal amount of work in all weeks ( pending Discussion, assignment and peer assessment ) still I got message in week 3 , 4 and 5 – “ congratulations ! You have completed week 3 / 4/5 .
h. Discussion/ Assignment/Assessment- Question participation is made optional for good. Assignment : Rubric on first glance looks scary, may lead to learners not attempting them. Assignments assessment rubric is a bit too detailed and lengthy though it has valuable assessment tips for submission and assessment , it gives a feeling of “ tough” .
i. Mooc learners : Non USA learners may not find this course engaging enough so may add to drop out %.
j. There is absolutely no use of Beta testing forum – for the purpose of discussion among testers ( hardly happened) . Instead find some other way to note testing work that can be accessed by course team.
k. Course could have been presented in more structured way ,with more material pertaining to the title of video, less use of one after other data slide, more video to learn and less numbers of all quiz/ test / discussion/ assignment/ Peer assessment should have made it look balanced. Take home points are less compared to time consumed in going thru course.
My Overall Rating for Non USA Mooc Learners – 3 stars .

Course contents extremely interesting, but dis-satisfied with the quizzes & frustrating peer-assignments.
I think the content is good but the assignments and quizzes have not been thought out completely.
The assignments do not seem to have enough instructions and I do not believe in what they are asking you to do. (Judge a person just by his picture -- judge a book by its cover). The quiz gave no opportunity to take the quiz without verification. The second quiz was a survey of my opinions and I should not be forced to answer 11 opinion questions, especially for 1% added to my grade.
