Great way to get started with Python!
Good introduction in Thinking as a programmer and learning python. I will start the second course right away, because - yeah, it's just the first half
Great tempo, explanations, and exercises....
To give 5 starts, I would have liked more assignments.
Learning a new language is really difficult. Thanks to coursera and the instructor they made this course so easy that any one can understand the concept of the programming and complexity of it very easily.
Thank you coursera and special thanks to the instructor.
Nice and well structured class. I liked it to learn the basic Python syntax (loops, functions etc.), before you get to data structures in the second class. At first, that was counter-intuitive to me, since in other courses on different programming languages, it was the other way around, but it worked quite nicely. The only weakness of the class: In the assignments where you have to enter your code to get a specific output, just getting the output was not enough. A more or less concrete code was required. It was sometimes a bit frustrating to figure out what went wrong. But anyhow: A good course for anyone with little programming experience and a wish to learn Python!
Perfect place to start for people with zero programming background.
Helpful!
Awesome!
This is a great opportunity to learn some excellent skills in a language that is powerful yet easy enough to learn the basics. I enjoyed every moment of this class. I learned a lot about python and Charles Severance (Dr. Chuck) provides an excellent learning experience why presenting the material in a concise, structured and fun manner. I'm pursuing all 5 (even the capstone course) courses to earn the specialization in an up and coming language I feel we will see more apps being developed in the Python Language. Thanks Doctor Chuck and the University of Michigan!
