This is an overall nice course that provides introduction to a beginner programmer but I sometimes wish some unncessary things could have been avoided in the lectures. A lot lof times, the instructor references talks that are irrelavant to the lecture and this makes it hard to focus on the important aspects of the course sometimes.

This is a great course for learning how to program, for novices especially.

Coming from an absolute beginner- this is a graet introductory course. Course assumes you know nothing about programming and walks you step-by-step with an achievable challenge.

This course was not what I expected it to be. It was better than I could have imagined! Starting out with absolutely no coding experience was a bit daunting, but I stuck with it and I'm glad that I did. Dr. Severence explains each topic clearly and makes things interesting. He seems to be a wholesome, really cool guy and I look forward to the next step which is Data Structures. The best part of these courses is that you can go back and review material if you get stumped on an assignment (Week 6 for me). The hardest part for me is finding time during the day to go over the course material since I'm working 12 hour days in remote locations. Even so, you can download lectures for later which is what I've been doing to make up for the poor cell service I get while at work.

Very good course! But of course, different ones offer different perspectives, and one cannot cover them all. So it might not hurt to take other courses at the same level in the future. But this one is solid in offering substantial materials.
